"Why Don't Young People Vote?"

In the article "Why Don't Young People Vote", Hanan Esaili describes how Millennials compose a large part of the voting population, however majority of them do not vote. They are generally interested in political issues but not strictly supporting either party. The youth of today are "socially liberal but fiscally conservative". Despite the Millennials of today having more access to political issues and news, they are no longer voting because they either don't think it has a direct effect on them or they see government as "inefficient and wasteful". They seem to have the most vocal input on social issues, but do not exercise their right to vote to make a change to those problems. The author wanted to point out that if they were to all vote, they would be the majority and win the election with someone who would make the changes they want.
